How Can Counselling Help Me?
A Counsellor is a person who is trained to listen to your problems and concerns without any judgment. We are someone you can come to tell your side of the story to, to offload to, or to just be a sounding board for you.
We will teach you invaluable coping skills and ways of thinking which will help you overcome the problems you may be having in your life, and in your relationships. We will be here to encourage you and to support you to get through the hard times, or when you are attempting something new. All this can be done in person at our Duncraig office, online using Skype, or by telephone. We also offer our clients a free ten minute, no obligation, phone consultation with Sandy, our Counsellor. You can speak with her about your particular problem and feel if she is a good fit for you. Click here for her Contact details.
Who is Counselling for?
Counselling is best suited to people who have current problems in their lives or in their relationships, or who are having to deal with an unexpected crisis. It not suitable for people with deep seated childhood issues or long term psychological problems. Psychotherapy is a better form of therapy for these people.
Counselling mainly focuses on achieving a change in a person’s way of thinking or in their behaviour, not in their personality structure like psychotherapy does.
